Shot List
Output Node Tree
The Shot List data-block consists of two components, the essential shot list and the optional output node tree.
The data-block can be shared between scene's and even appended between files.

Shot3
Each Shot List contains a Default shot which acts as a basis for all other shots.
The Default Shot holds the default property values and let's us chose which properties are available.

Shot List
Shots can be linked to other Shots and inherit their properties.
This can be useful when making design iterations by overriding the Suffix or perhaps for re-rendering specific frame ranges.
It can also be useful to make edit and render versions of a shot where a differing primary view layers are set.

Properties
Shot Source
Linked Property
Most individual properties can be overridden, effectively unlinking them from the source Shot. However, some are locked meaning they must be defined by the active Shot.
If the source Shot is a Default shot then Name and Suffix must be unique, Primary Layer defaults as the active View Layer when the shot is created, Still Image is borrowed from the Default Shot but is not linked.
Notes are never inherited.

Out sockets on the Shot Output node and Shot View layer states also use this system of inheritance.
